Artist Bio
Alina wanted to become an artist ever since she was gifted a book called “How to understand art” at age of 16. She was so taken by the few copies of Leonardo Da Vinci’s drawings in that book that she decided that art . Early on in her career, she studied architecture, where she had one day each week dedicated to drawing and painting from life. In 2023, she took the leap and fulfilled her long-time dream of studying realist art at Grand Central Atelier in NYC. Studying at GCA gave her a lot more confidence in figure drawing skills.
Some of the things Alina likes about drawing and painting is trying to capture the beauty and stillness of the world. Art for her is a chance to slow down and observe her subject deeply with curiosity and intensity. Alina loves finding intricate light and shadows patterns, be it on a person’s face or in a landscape. She strives to convey the subject’s essence in her art.
Alina’s art can be found in private collections across Canada and United States. Her works can also be viewed at Victoria BC City hall.
